Urban Decay is a makeup brand all of us beauty lovers know and love.
One of their most popular products has to be the NAKED palettes. If you haven’t heard of these before then all I can say is make sure you keep on reading to find out more!
There are a few different palettes to choose from, but today I’m going to be talking about an affordable high-end basic palette that Urban Decay sell; NAKED 2 BASICS PALETTE.
The NAKED 2 BASICS palette is a great starting point if you’re new to makeup but it’s also a fantastic palette to have if you’re a makeup obsessed hoarder. It contains 6 neutral muted matte shades which are an essential for any makeup lover. The shades work so well with lots of different skin tones making this suitable for so many of us women.
NAKED 2 BASICS comes in a small and sturdy nude coloured case. It’s the perfect size for popping into your handbag and it’s very travel-friendly. Inside there is 6 beautiful shades; SKIMP, STARK, FRISK, COVER, PRIMAL and UNDONE.
SKIMP is the lightest of the shades and is a perfect natural nude. UNDONE is the darkest, a soft black which is superb for a dark smoky eye. If you want to keep it simple, all of these shades work well when used on their own. They are also perfect for blending together to create a variety of different looks. I’ve found that SKIMP, FRISK and COVER make a lovely warm everyday look. FRISK, PRIMAL and UNDONE blend together beautifully to make a deeper intense smoky eye which is perfect for those times you’re feeling more adventurous.
The quality of each eyeshadow is amazing. You won’t be left disappointed if you’re looking for a super soft blendable eyeshadow. This palette is bursting with smooth and silky eyeshadows just waiting to be worn. They apply in such an easy way. The shades are very pigmented meaning you don’t have to waste excessive amounts of the product. The eyeshadow pans are full-sized, so with regular use this palette will last you a long time. Once you’ve used the NAKED palettes which are loved by beauty addicts all over the world, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without one.
My skin type is mostly oily, so as you can imagine I have oily lids! All of the shades last so well on my skin. I get around 5 hours of lively looking wear before I have any issues like creasing but that problem is easily solved by blending them back out again. If you use an eye primer, I’d imagine they would last even longer and give better results. I’ve heard fantastic things about the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion so that might be worth looking at if you struggle to keep eyeshadow on your lids.
The NAKED 2 Basics palette is priced at £23.00 which is a little on the pricey side but I do believe they are worth the money. Don’t forget to keep your eyes open for offers on Urban Decay beauty products. I’ve seen that places like Debenhams and FeelUnique sometimes have great discounts.
If the NAKED 2 BASICS doesn’t appeal to you, fear not as Urban Decay sell a NAKED 1 BASICS palette with six different colours which you might love even more!
